Jim Wakem presents flowers to Mark and Heather Pellow

Today Jim Wakem (Chair of the Council) had the great pleasure of meeting Mark and Heather Pellow and wishing them a happy 60th anniversary. They were such a lovely couple. Mark read a poem that he has recently written for Heather.

The couple were neighbours in Plympton and have known each other since they were 5. In his poem, Mark describes being in school (dressed as Francis Drake no less) ready to celebrate the late Queen’s coronation. He knew that he wanted Heather by his side then.

They started courting a few years later and were married in Colebrook on 16 September 1966. Once married, they were market gardeners and moved to Todsworthy Farm where they have lived for 42 years.

From all of us at the Parish Council we hope you have wonderful celebrations and many more happy years together.
